Educators and Parents/Guardians: How to keep Communicating
Here are some ways to communicate between educators and parents/guardians. This will ensure that a positive relationship is maintained during the family day care service.
- Arrange a morning or afternoon tea.
- Keep an update of the child’s daily activities.
- Use communication apps on your devices such as Whatsapp, Facebook to share photos and descriptions of activities.
- Keep in touch through calls, messaging and email.
- Ensure all important information shared between educator/parents is up to date.
- Have weekly discussions on how to improve the service to suit the child and parents.

Better Future Family Day Care wishes a Happy Father’s Day to all the Fathers out there! Enjoy this Sunday, the 2nd of September, with your fathers/grandfathers and families, showing all your love and support.

TRAINING SESSIONS

.* : * .* : *. WINTER TIPS .* : * .* : *.

- Dress infants and children warmly for outdoor activities. Several thin layers will keep them dry and warm. Always remember warm boots, gloves or mittens, and a hat.
- The rule of thumb for older babies and young children is to dress them in one more layer of clothing than an adult would wear in the same conditions.
- When riding in the car, babies and children should wear thin, snug layers rather than thick, bulky coats or snowsuits.
- Blankets, quilts, pillows, bumpers, sheepskins and other loose bedding should be kept out of an infantโs sleeping environment because they are associated with suffocation deaths. It is better to use sleep clothing like one-piece sleepers or wearable blankets.
- If a blanket must be used to keep a sleeping infant warm, it should be thin and tucked under the crib mattress, reaching only as far as the babyโs chest, so the infantโs face is less likely to become covered by bedding materials.

Ten Little Fingers & Ten Little Toes by Mem Fox & Helen Oxenbury
As everyone knows, nothing is sweeter than tiny baby fingers and chubby baby toes. And here is a celebration of baby fingers, baby toes, and the joy theyโand the babies they belong toโbring to everyone, everywhere, all over the world!
This is a gorgeously simple picture book for very young children, and once you finish the rhythmic, rhyming text, all youโll want to do is go back to the beginning . . . and read it again! The luminous watercolor illustrations of these roly-poly little ones from a variety of backgrounds are adorable, quirky, and true to life, right down to the wrinkles, dimples, and pudges in their completely squishable arms, legs, and tummies. – Goodreads
