EDUCATOR OF THE MONTH – JUNE – JULY 2019

FERZANA FERDOUSI

Ferzana Ferdousi joined Better Future Family Day Care very recently and has shown great efforts towards being a good educator. She proved that she can provide fantastic service and her hard work and persistence has been recognized by us and appreciated.ย

Although Ferzana joined very recently, her efforts show that she deserves to be the best educator for this month. She has also completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care to enhance her service.
Well done Ferzana!

Educators and Parents/Guardians:ย How to keep Communicating

Here are some ways to communicateย between educators and parents/guardians. This will ensure that a positive relationship is maintained during the family day care service.

  • Arrange a morning or afternoon tea.
  • Keep an update of the child’s daily activities.
  • Use communication apps on your devices such as Whatsapp, Facebook to share photos and descriptions of activities.
  • Keep in touch through calls, messaging and email.
  • Ensure all important information shared between educator/parents is up to date.
  • Have weekly discussions on how to improve the service to suit the child and parents.

.* :ย * .* :ย *.ย WINTER TIPSย .* :ย * .* :ย *.

  • Dress infants and children warmly for outdoor activities.  Several thin layers will keep them dry and warm. Always remember warm boots, gloves or mittens, and a hat.
  • The rule of thumb for older babies and young children is to dress them in one more layer of clothing than an adult would wear in the same conditions.
  • When riding in the car, babies and children should wear thin, snug layers rather than thick, bulky coats or snowsuits.
  • Blankets, quilts, pillows, bumpers, sheepskins and other loose bedding should be kept out of an infantโ€™s sleeping environment because they are associated with suffocation deaths. It is better to use sleep clothing like one-piece sleepers or wearable blankets.
  •  If a blanket must be used to keep a sleeping infant warm, it should be thin and tucked under the crib mattress, reaching only as far as the babyโ€™s chest, so the infantโ€™s face is less likely to become covered by bedding materials.
