Enrolment and Fees

Enrolment Process

Where possible we try to give options to Educators allowing you the choice but sometimes this is not possible due to lack of vacancies, but we try our best to best match you and your child with the right Educator.

  • Parent/Guardian Enquiry for enrolment of child whether through the educator or direct to Better Future FDC Service
  • The Parent/Guardian is called for an interview with the Supervisor. This interview is conducted either face to face at Better Future FDC Service office or by phone depending on the availability of the parent/guardian and during interview, we will discuss fees, hours your needs and he needs of the child
  • Acceptance and placement of child. If the Parent/Guardian does not know the potential educator for the care of their child, then Better Future FDC organises a meeting between the educator and parent/guardian either at the service or at the educatorโ€™s care venue All families are given the best option for selecting the educator which suits their requirements depending on their cultural, religious, demographical or other aspects. A child is only then placed in the care of the educator if the families and child are completely comfortable.
  • The Child enrolment needs to be completed and handed over to Better Future FDC minimum Seven (7) days prior to commencement of care. All parts of the form must be completed, and signatures must be done all required documents, Parent/Guardian orientation checklist, statutory Declaration, all permission forms need to be given in together with the child enrolment form
  • Family Handbook. Better Future Family Day Care Family Handbook is given to the Parent/Guardian of the child which consists of important information about the Service and their requirements from the Parent/Guardian of the child enrolled
  • Enrolling the Child and Family with Child Care Subsidy System (CCSS) through Harmony. The child and family are linked with the educator through Harmony for CCSS by the Director/Supervisor.
  • Settling in Period of a Child. Depending on the circumstances and age of the child Better Future Family Day Care encourages families to give at least a week of settling in time for their child with the new educator
If we are unable to match your care requirements you are welcome to put your child on our waitlist and you will be notified of possible care as it becomes available.

Fees

Family Day Care Educators are self-employed operating their own Child Care Service with the support and guidance of the Coordination Unit. Each individual Educator sets their own Fee Structure within our guidelines of the Service Policies and Procedures and Government Regulations. You will be given the information of the fees applicable to you during the enrolment process.

Once you have made your choice and your child starts care with your chosen Educator one of our Coordinators will visit your child to see how they are settling in. After our visit we will make contact with you, discuss your child, any concerns, and how you are feeling about the care so far. Each month the Coordinators visit the Educator, if your child is in care that day you will be left a slip stating a visit has happened and what your child was doing at that time.
